
SUNNIE CHAN
Sunnie Chan | 陳朗晴
Sunnie Chan is a design exhibition-maker based in Hong Kong. She holds degrees from the University of Essex majoring History of Art & Film Studies, and the Hong Kong Baptist University in MA Communication. As an independent and with Gallery 27, one of the few design-focused galleries in Hong Kong spanning across graphics, photography and design objects, she has taken part in projects including “M+ Mobile: Yaumatei” (2012), “Sori Yanagi: The Designer’s Heart” (2015), “Hong Kong Department Store” (2016) and “Very Hong Kong Very Hong Kong” (2017).
In 2018, Sunnie was a Research Associate for M+ museum on Hong Kong graphic design and the museum’s opening display. She recently completed the Design Trust/ Royal College of Art research fellowship in Design Curation, including a prototyping event “Design Curators Clinic” and placement at the Learning Department of the V&A Museum, centred on emerging practices of design curating and its contribution to cultural learning.
Sunnie is also a member of the Hong Kong Design History Network, a research group focused on the diverse design histories of Hong Kong.
陳朗晴是生活於香港的展覽製作人,畢業於英國University of Essex,主修藝術史及電影研究,並獲香港浸會大學傳理學院文學碩士學位。通過 27畫廊 或作為獨立策展人,過去參與展覽包括:《M+ 進行:油麻地》(2012)、《意匠之心柳宗理》(2015)、《香港百貨》(2016)、《好香港好香港》(2017)等等。
她過去亦是M+ 博物館的研究員,專注於香港視覺文化,並與策展團隊緊密合作,研究本地平面設計及參與規劃博物館的開幕展覽。2018年,陳獲選為信言設計大使 / 英國皇家藝術學院設計策展學人,通過原型活動「設計策展人門診中心」,以及於V&A博物館學習部門的實習,探討新興設計策展及實踐方式,與文化學習的關係。
陳亦是香港設計史網絡的成員,一個專注於香港多元化設計歷史的研究團體。
